Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

• With the first quarter, and the first of the year's two registration plate changes, Out of the way, we are beginning to see how registrations are shaping up.

Tractor figures are down 10.9% on the first quarter, but some rigid sectors have produced impressive results. Eight-leggem are up 8.0%; 3.6-75-tanners are up 6.1%; and 12-tanners are up a whopping 36.5%. Woo, Mercedes-Benz, both Paccar brands and Scania have shown improved first quarters—unlike the MAN Group, Renault and Volvo, all of which have shown noticeable declines.

Vauxhall, presumably stung by having its customary second spot lifted by Citroen, has responded vigorously to reclaim that position, despite the French improving 5.4% on the year to date, Lower down the field Fiat, Renault, Toyota and VW moved in the right direction over the quarter, while lveco, LDV and Mercedes slid back a little, The real stars of the lightweight sector are found among the pickup builders, who more than doubled their registrations. Mitsubishi almost tripled its figures.
