Army moves

PICKFORDS have opened a new office to serve Rhine army personnel moving between Britain and Germany. The new depot will be providing storage facilities and specialist vehicles and staff to help with the moving.

The centre will operate in conjunction with a clearance area at Enfield. The new service will be run by the Overseas Removals department of Pickfords.

Bordeaux bottles

CAVE WOOD, being part of the Price & Pierce Transportation Division, are starting a new service from Bordeaux, specially tailored for the requirements of shippers of smaller quantities of wine from this area.

Rates will be on a per bottle basis, and the service will be in conjunction with their sister company, Mitjavile SA who have vehicles operating daily throughout the Gironde area, collecting small consignments from approximately 2,000 cellars.

Mini-Freight

A SPECIAL service designed for the fast delivery of small loads and parcels has been introduced by Otway and Golder of Penge, London.

Currently limited to the home counties including East Anglia and the South West as far as Bristol, the Mini-Freight service can take a 6 cwt from London to Bristol within two days for £11.25 and specified delivery is guaranteed.

NAWDC guide

THE National Association of Waste Disposal Contractors recently published a handbook for members.

Included in the contents are the association's Code of Practice, Code of Conduct, Trade Directory and Guidelines on the preparation of contracts for waste disposal. It is available to member companies (price £5) and to nonmembers (price £10).
