• The finals of the National Public Service Vehicles Undertakings Cricket Competition took place on Wednesday at the Worcester County Ground. SELNEC PTE (Manchester) were first to bat. scoring 118 runs for the loss of three wickets. but West Midlands PTE (Birmingham) took the Castro! Shield with a score of 119 for seven.
Hughie Douglas, Manchester's opening batsman, was declared -man of the match".
