Ample ground clearance is achieved by a change in the design of the front wings and lower section of the metal work of the TK cab, and the exhaust system has also been raised. The cab is fitted with a driver's scat only and instead of entrance steps. access to the cab is by stirrup brackets.

Power is provided by either the Bedford 300 Cu. in. six-cylinder petrol engine. which produces 133 b.h.p. gross at 3,400 r.p.m. and gives a maximum gross torque of 267 lb. ft. at 1.400 r.p.M.. or the Bedford 330 Cu. in. six-cylinder diesel with a maximum gross output of 107 b.h.p. at 2.800 r.p.m. and maximum gross torque of 238 lb. ft. at 1,800 r.p.m. A five-speed, heavy-duty, synchromesh gearbox is standard with specially selected ratios. These are 7.58, 4.38, 2.4, 1-48 and 1 to I forward, with reverse 7.01 to I. As with the three low-loading chassis the gear change linkage is in one piece.
