lkhORE than 400,000 workers will, it alis estimated, benefit by the scheme for staggering working hours, which has been initiated by the London and South-Eastern Regional Board of the Production Executive, in collaboration with London Transport, The basis of the scheme, which has been worked out by representatives of factory managements, in consultation with trade unions and transport undertakings, is the readjustment, by 15minute intervals, of the times of starting and finishing work, with the object of providing a more even flow of passengers at the times of heaviest demand.

Workers at war factories are* to receive first consideration in the winter

schedules that have been arranged by London Transport. Many improvements and additions to bus, trolleybus and tram services in factory areas are being made.
