Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

THE range of Clayton electric vehicle chassis now available covers two models the 2i-3-tonner and the if-5tonner, a tipping wagon body and gear weighing so much more than a lorry or van body and thus reducing the useful load to the lower figure.

The smaller model is equipped with a 40-cell Ironclad-Exid,0 I.M.V. 8 battery, its capacity in ampere-hours being 258, and its weight 2,570 lb. Five forward and two reverse speeds are provided, the final drive to the road wheels being by chain. The length overall is 16 ft. 3 ins:, the wheelbase 9 ft. 9 ins., and the wheel track, both front and rear, is 5 ft. 51 ins. On the overall length given a body space of 12 ft. is provided, the tare, weight of the chassis with batteries being 2 tons. The larger capacity vehicle has the 40-cell Ironclad-Exide I.M.V. 10 battery, with a capacity of 323 ampere-hours, the battety weight being 3,100 lb. The mode of drive is exactly similar to that employed in the smaller model, and the various dimensions are : length overall, 18 ft. 8 ins. ; Wheelbase, 11 ft. 3 ins. ; wheel track, front 5 ft. 6 ins., rear 5 ft. 10 ins, ; length of body space, 13 ft. The tare weight of the chassis is 41 tons. The wheels used on both models are cast steel, and they are shod M the case of the smaller model with 720 mm. by 110 mm. solid tyres on the front wheels and 720 mm. by 160 mm. solid tyres (single), on the rear wheels, whilst the other model has 720 min, by 160 mm. all round, the rear wheels being twin tyred. •
