Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

DRIVER AGENCY Driver Hire has chosen Road Safety Week to highlightthe danger of poor eyesight to drivers.

The sight of as many as one in 10 drivers fails to meet the legal minimum standard, according to research by the Eyecare Information Service.

Ian Ware, Driver Hire's recruitment, retention and development director, says this equates to 3.5 million drivers nationwide.

He warns: "If your eyesight isn't up to scratch, not only does it invalidate your insurance, it's an offence. And of course poor vision could result in you being involved in an accident."

The company has teamed up with optician Dollond & Aitchison to offer free eye tests to its drivers with a 20% reduction in the cost of any spectacles prescribed.

West Yorkshire-based Driver Hire supplies temporary and permanent staff to the industry from its network of 120 offices.
