Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

BOTH the 12-cwt. and 30-cwt. models have the six-cylindered overheadvalve engine of 315e ins, bore and 31 ins. stroke, the former having a three-speed gearbox and final-drive ratio of 3.8 to 1, whilst the latter has a four-speed gearbox and a final-drive ratio of 4.9 to 1. The wheelbase of the 12-cwt. chassis is 8 ft. 11 ins, and that of the larger model 10 ft. 11 ins.

Apart from the stripped chassis which appear in the collective chassis exhibit, the company is showing on stand 34 the standard light delivery van of 12-cwt. capacity priced at £175 and the 12-cwt. lorry with Spurling body which costs just £1 more. The latter is designed for express parcels delivery. There is plenty of loading space and side raves are set at an angle to afford extra width. The 30-cwt. chassis is shown with a delivery-van body at £235, a tipping lorry body, incorporating Flexion timing gear, at £260, and a three-stretcher ambulance body at £347. It is also seen as a meat-carrying van at £230, and as a farmer's wagon at 1240.

An excellent example of a generalpurpose 30-cwt. lorry also is shown with special fitments, these giving opportunity to convert the lorry for various purposes. Thus it can be used as a fiat-platform vehicle ; by fitting the detachable sides it can be made into a drop-side lorry ; by adding tfie timber bolster it becomes a builder's lorry ; by adding the raves and high loading rack it is madeinto a market gardener's vehicle, and when the side racks, tail rack and high loading rack are fitted it is a most useful general-purpose lorry. The price is £212, plus £10 13s. 6d. for the fitments.—General Motors, Ltd., The Hyde, London, N.W.9.
