Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

AWIDE range of vehicles is to be seen on this stand, all, except one, being of Anglo-American construction. The exception is a new Manchester 2-ton lorry having forward control and a British overhead-valve 20.08 h.p. engine. This particular vehicle has a 10-ft. 8-in, wheelbase and a track at the rear of 4 ft. 11 ins., allowing a platform measuring 12 ft. by 6 ft. 4 ins, to be installed without the body frame overhanging the chassis side-members to any material extent.

With bore and stroke dimensions of 90 mm. and 130 mm. respectively the engine has a total piston-swept volume of 3,308 c.c. Overhead valves operated by push-rods and rockers from a camshaft contained in the crankcase emerge into cylindrical combustion chambers. The crankshaft has three bearings fed by oil from a high-pressure system. A single-plate clutch of normal design is

mounted unitwise with a four-speed gearbox, the final reduction gearing in the rear axle being of the spiral-bevel type. Four-wheel brakes are operated directly by the pedal, whilst a hand lever applies a separate set of shoes in the rear drums only. The standard price covers single tyres at the rear.

Other Models of the Manchester range on view are a fire-engine having a 2-ton chassis with side-valve engine of 22.5 h.p., and a larger model (a van) available in the 2-}-ton class, having an engine of 25.6 h.p. R.A.C. rating. There is also a tipper of 30-85-cwt. capacity.

Willys Six-30 box-bodied vehicle is bound to attract attention, for the chassis is of up-to-date design and, with its six-cylindered engine, four-speed gearbox, etc., has a good performance.

Two examples of the recently introduced Willys six-cylinder chassis of 13-ft. 1-in, wheelbase are on view, one being equipped with a travelling-shop body, whilst the other takes the form of a 20-passenger all-weather coach,Willys Overland Crossley, Ltd., Heaton Chapel, Stockport.
