Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

TH" year the Renault Company is not marketing the passenger models which were quite a feature of its display at the Olympia Shaw in 1929, but is concentrating upon goods vehicles. Two light machines are to be seen.

The first of these is the type-0S4 30cwt. chassis. This has a four-cylindered engine mounted in unit construction with the gearbox, the engine capacity being 2,120 c.c. Details of the unit include ignition by coil and distributor, six-volt dynamo, lighting and starting set, pressure lubrication, and, as a novelty with this make of machine, a radiator-mounted in front of the engine.

A traveller's brougham on a chassis of 10-ft. 4-in, wheelbase, incorporating the seine type of engine, forms the other light machine on this stand. An oil-engined vehicle of which practically nothing has yet been heard in this country, -is the new Renault 5-. toneer. The Renault concern has been working on the production of this engine in Franc* for well over a year, and has been sufficiently satisfied to market it hi that conntry. Now that a considerable period oftrial has been passed through; the engine is being offered for export.

The unit has four cylinders of 1..,16 nun. here and 170 mm.stroke and develops 60 b.h.p. at 1,500 r.p.m. It employs the Bosch fuel-injection System, but otherwise is Renault built. A 24volt electric starter is fitted, and, without .using heater toils, the company claims to have obtained easy starting.

In. the 53-ton chassis the engine is shown in unit with a four-speed gearbox, the chassis weighing 33 tons. It has a wheelbase of 14 ft. 7 ins. and 38-in. by 8-in. tyres (twin rear). The top-gear speed (equivalent. to tako engine r.p.m.) is 333 m.p.h.—Renault, Ltd., Western Avenue, London, W.3.
