Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

III Ford has added a higherpowered Curnmins-engined model to its 24.4-tonne GVW Cargo three-axle truck and tipper chassis range. The new models — consisting of four and two-spring versions — are powered by the 181kW (243bhp) LT10-250 Cummins engine.

The 10-litre turbocharged unit is already fitted in Ford 32.5-tonne tractive units and high-powered drawbar chassis.

The 2424 rigid has a Fuller RT11609A nine-speed constant mesh gearbox and an Eaton 18199 rear bogie with cross-axle differential locks and a choice of 4.33 or 4.88:1 final drive ratios.

Available for haulage or tipping work, it is offered in two wheelbases — 4.26 and 5.5m.

Ford quotes a 7,020kg kerbweight for a 4.26m wheelbase two-spring Cargo tipper chassis, compared with the 6,494kg kerbweight of an equivalent air-cooled 152kW (204hp) Deutz powered model.

To accommodate the L10 engine in its rigid chassis, Ford has changed the exhaust mountings and fitted a new propshaft. The new 2424 rigid will be part of the combined Iveco Ford Truck range which goes on sale from July 1.
