Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

● Cheshire-based GB Freight has added a Volvo FH 500 to its fleet on a two-year contract hire agreement. The 6x2 tractor is currently averaging 8.3mpg moving corrugated paper, but has seen as much as 12mpg after moving a load of toilet rolls.

● N Clark Planing has taken delivery of two Scania R500s fitted with automatic Opticruise transmissions on a five-year maintenance contract from Keltruck. The new R-series trucks will make up one replacement and one additional truck in the firm’s fleet, which supplies planing services to the construction industry.

● Granulated and pulverised goods transportation specialists H Freund has put its first Volvo trucks into operation after buying three new FH 540 tractor units. The trucks have been fitted with I-Shift automatic gearboxes and have Globetrotter XL cabs with air conditioning, a fridge and Bluetooth.

● Grampian Continental has added four new DAF trucks for use with its oil and gas contracts. The vehicles have been plated to STGO type approval and will work alongside a number of Volvo and Scania trucks from the company’s base near Aberdeen.

● Road maintenance contractor FM Conway has added 31 Fuso Canters to its fleet for use across its contracts with various London borough councils. Each of the vehicles has been fitted with low-loading tipper bodies from Abba Commercials and hydraulic tipping gear from Hyva UK.

● BSB Transport has returned to Mercedes-Benz for 10 more Actros tractor units to replace some outgoing models. The Actros 2546 MegaSpace cabs will help move shipping containers, as well as paper and timber products.

● Westfield Transport has also taken an Actros to trunk between its Truro base and the Palletforce hub in Burton-onTrent. The 2546 MegaSpace will tow a double-deck trailer and was expected to achieve 8mpg, but is currently “well ahead of that target”.
