Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

DAF, MAN and Scania provide optional driver feedback systems. All Scania trucks sold in the UK are now fitted with a Communicator 200 telematics black box that automatically collects data on fuel usage, idling time, over-speed, over-revving, acceleration and braking behaviour. The Driver Support Module (DSM) uses star ratings for each driving parameter.

The package is part of Scania’s newly launched Ecolution system, which incorporates driver training and continuous feedback. Operators pay a monthly fee based on vehicle mileage and number of drivers and in return get monthly reports on individual drivers, along with regular driver briefings, which can be conducted by Scania or the operators themselves face-to-face, over the phone or via video conferencing. Even though economical driving is not a mandatory part of Driver CPC training, Scania has received JAUPT accreditation for its feedback programme – it counts as an hour’s worth of training for each seven-hour module. All new DAF CF75, CF85 & XF105 trucks now include a dashboard display with real-time instantaneous, trip and average fuel consumption information. There is a pop-up actual fuel consumption screen while driving and an automatic trip information screen once the ignition is switched off. A driver feedback module is optional with MAN Telematics packages.
