Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

IVECO HAS LAUNCHED a robust defence of its Assistance Non-Stop breakdown service following claims by a Wigan operator, that its service was "a rip-off'.

Edward Preyzner, MD of New Concept lnternational, says he was told it would cost £900 to repair an injector pipe on his EuroTech when it broke down in France. Iveco director of communications, Nigel Emms, says:"As yet Iveco has not raised an invoice to the customer, but merely asked for a guarantee of payment which is standard business practice across Europe.

"The incident in France, as reported, was to repair a fuel leak. The bond requested was in excess of the standard (€800) simply because the dealer had not established the exact cause of the problem and was concerned it might be the [fuel] pump and not the pipe set. The dealer quickly identified the problem as a set of injector pipes and replaced them in line with Iveco parts and labour standard rules" Preyzner disputes this and says iveco never told him the fee was a guarantee of payment: "Iveco assistance said it would be £900 because it could involve a diesel injector being replaced. I thought it was for a twofoot long piece of pipe!"

Emms says he will not be charged for the initial temporary repair in Spain: "We have explained again a guarantee of payment is not the final invoice."
