Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

COMPETITION WILL damage the rationalisation of London Trans. port's bus netwrok, LT has told the Greater London Council. And LT's passengers watchdog is making its views known widely.

LT was commenting in a report on the London Regional Transport Bill, which aims to take LT out of GLC control, separate its bus and Un derground businesses and makE it easier for other operators tc provide competing bus services.

There would be a danger ol co-ordination between bus anc rail services being broken dowr by unregulated competition.

It wants London Regiona Transport to have control ove competing services, and sug gests that the Metropolitan Traf fic Commissioners should bi compelled to take account o LRT transport policy when con sidering other operators' appli cations for licences.

Meanwhile, London Transpor Passengers' Committee is distr buting 20,000 leaflets whic voice concern that the Goverr ment plans for London Tram port may not be in the be interests of Londoners.

LTPC chairman Nick LestE believes the Bill currently befor Parliament will prove negative.
