Lubrication system

• A new range of advanced centralised chassis lubrication systems is now available from Econocruise.

They can be fitted to any part of the chassis and are claimed to reduce downtime, repairs and maintenance substantially.

Haulage software

• A basic software package for printing delivery notes and invoices called TRAMM (TRAnsport Money Maker) has been launched by Bevin Computer Services. It is priced at 18627 for the disc, a manual and 30 days free fax support. Users need an industry standard PC running MS-DOS or PC-DOS version 3.3 or later with at least 640k of memory and a hard disc.

Towing pedal power

• The brakes of vehicles on tow can be activated using a remote control unit newly imported from the US. The Brake-buddy can be quickly attached to the brake pedal of the towed truck at one end, while the other is secured to the steering wheel.

Connecting air lines to the tow truck activate a springloaded cylinder when the driver applies the brakes. Thus you get the braking power of both vehicles, says the European distributor, Lantern Commercials of Hertford, it improves safety and increases the life of the towing truck's brakes.
