Keywords : Powell Duffryn, Duffryn

• Colchester Borough Council's contract services group has added two Dennis Elite-cabbed 17-tonne gully emptiers to its fleet of municipal vehicles. Both are equipped with 8,200-litre , tanks and ancillary suction and jetting equipment produced by Dennis at its Leeds plant.

Cargo control

• Stourbridge-based M&G Tankers and Trailers has devised a neat cargo control system called Cargold.

Its knuckled and clasped roller assembly with notched track holds any cargo strap secure. With tension released its locking catch flicks free to slide cleat

Huck win

• General Motor's Delco Chassis Division has improved its Liteflex composite trailer springs by adding Huck-bolted steel plates at each end. Dayton, Ohio-based Delco says they are more durable than the steel springs they supersede, and they save 39kg per axle set.

Smaller zoom NI Ray Smith has designed a compact version of its zoom tail-lift for chassis with limited space between the rear mudguards and chassis end. The new double-folding cantilever lift platform takes up 420mm less of the rear overhang on standard RSG lifts.

Bigger range • Powell Duffryn's French subsidiary, CFPD, has acquired powder tanker and swap body specialist ETS Filliat in a move that is designed to broaden the group's product ranges and rationalise designs. ETS Filliat already co-operates with Metalair, which is another branch of Powell Duffryn.
