Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

• Seddon Atkinson will launch its Iveco-cabbed range of 4x2, 6x2 and 6x4 refuse collection chassis at the IWM show in Torbay on 15 June. The chassis frame has deeper side members pressed from thicker 8mm steel. Stronger hanger brackets are incorporated for steel-suspended models but Hendrickson Norde rubber remains standard for multiwheelers.

Rockwell's S153E single reduction axle replaces Eaton's double reduction axle for 4x2 and 6x2 chassis and the Rockwell RT153 bogie, with inter axle and cross axle locks, is used for the 6x4 model.

Cununins engines are being offered for the first time in Seddon Atkinson municipal vehicles. Both the 5.9-litre B210 and 8.3-litre C240 units meet Euro-1 emission requirements. The C240 has benefited from a 38% increase in torque developed at 100rpm less (954Nm (7011bft) at 1,300rpm). It also produces 14% more power at 300rpm less. Perkins' six-litre 210 Phaser engine is retained throughout the range.

Three and six-man low step height crew cab versions of Needs EuroCargo cab give the range a completely new look with improvements inside and out. The steering column is adjustable and the drivers suspension seat includes an integral safety belt.

A high roof line give an interior head height of 1.96m (6f-t 5in) and the ventilation system can replace the air in the larger crew cab every 50 seconds. The passenger side door, opening to 900, gives clear access but a one piece sliding door will become an option later in the year.

While Eaton's nine-speed manual synchromesh gearbox is standard on 4x2 chassis, the latest push-button Allison automatic transmission is offered as an option but is standard on 6x2 and 6x4 models.

A more powerful TRW steering box replaces the ZF type. Brake dimensions remain unchanged but reservoir capacities have been increased.

Alternator output and battery capacity have also been increased. Fourteen of the 19 monitoring lights advise of incorrect use of a control while the others give warning of mechanical malfunction.
