A RATCLIFFE electrichydraulic tail lift has been incorporated into an outside television broadcast van built on a Mercedes-Benz 913 chassis by Mercury Mobiles of Wiltshire for export to Finland.
The tail lift will provide a working platform for cameramen and access to the roof platform as well as providing a convenient facility for maintenance engineers to service the rear-mounted 20KVA diesel generator set and the roof mounted air conditioning unit.
When in use for picture shooting the tail lift is fitted with guard rails. A stable working platform is ensured with the use of two sliding :atches positioned in the lifting columns and a push-button wander lead controls the height of the platform.
A padded hatch in the cab roof allows a cameraman to take pictures whilst the vehi:le is on the move.
