ONE of South Yorkshire PTE's electric buses has made its London debut at the International Electric Vehicle Development Conference at the Institute of British Architecture.
The 21 seater mini bus, originally built by the Department of Industry was acquired together with its sister bus by the South Yorkshire PTE last year for research and development work.
• Since then the bus has been completely rebuilt and fitted with newly developed electric control units produced by Cableform of Stockport and a regeneration braking system.
The bus, which was used to transport delegates at the London Conference is capable of accelerating at 3 mph per second and has a range of about 80 miles.
