Bus crews employed by the Yorkshire Traction
Co. Ltd. held emergency meetings last week to ventilate grievances over the new work rotas. A number of employees, members of the Transport and General Workers' Union, had threatened strike action unless certain alterations were made.
Rotas have been altered to allow a changeover to a 40-hour week, a reduction of six hours on the present working. Later, the secretary of the company's union branch, Mr. C. Bradshaw, said it was hoped to avoid strike action.
