4ONCERN at the anomalies with regard
to road transport contained in the ;ctive employment tax proposals has n expressed to the Ministry of Transport the Traders Road Transport Association. The proposals recognize the importance the transport industry by placing it in pecial position, whereby the employment will be refunded. But this recognition is n undermined by requiring a large part trade and industry's own transport. both the manufacturing and distribution side, pay the tax with no refund. This, says the TA, seems to be quite inconsistent with basic treatment of the transport ustry.
The TRTA declares it cannot accept .t as far as transport is concerned a tinction should be drawn between manuturers and service industries. All the sociation's experience shows that there no basic difference in efficiency in the nsport sector of the two fields.
