Sir Percival L. D. Perry has resigned his position as managing director of the Ford Motor Co. (England), Ltd., but will retain his connection with Henry Ford and Son, Ltd., and Fordson Tractors.
It was with much regret that we received news of the death, on May 17th, of Mr. Edward H. Shearing, director and works manager of J. Liversid.ge and Sons; Ltd. Mr. Shearing had been with the company for nearly 45 years, 25 years as works manager, and for the last eight years as director and works manager.
Mr. Owen Jones, who has been with the company for 25 years, for the greater part a the time as assistant works manager, has now been appointed works manager.
Sir Albert Stanley, M.P., wasrecently elected a director of the Underground Railway Co. (London), Ltd., and Lord George Hamilton having resigned the chair, Sir Alberti, was appointed to it. Sir Albert Stanley states that the increases of fares have come to an end for the present, and that, subject to the ap• proval of the proper Governtneitt Department, it is proposed to construct and place on the streets a new and improved type of omnibus
