Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

THE Freight Transport Association Yearbook '82 is a detailed and informative road transport bible that contains a wealth of information on subjects like tachographs; heavy goods vehicle testing; industrial relations; weights, dimensions and plating .... and much more.

The hard-back book lists Licensing Authorities; tachograph calibration and fitment centres; local vehicle licensing offices; goods vehicle testing stations; and local authorities and police forces. It deals with hazardous loads; endorsements and disqualifications; registration and excise licence duty — in addition to a detailed legislation calendar.

It is an update of the 1981 Yearbook and therefore covers much of the same ground as before. But that is no reason to dismiss this 1982 version. It is a mass of no nonsense information which is clearly written and well laid out.

FTA members receive a copy of the Yearbook free of charge • but copies are available to non members at £10 per copy. M.R.
