EIGHTY per cent of goo( vehicle operators have re ponded to Department Transport/Society of Mot! Manufacturers and Traders r call campaigns since they begl three years ago, the Gover ment announced last week.
Transport Under Secrete Lynda Chalker announced th and said: "It is important f reasons of safety that owners vehicles which are recalled their manufacturers because potential faults in design manufacture do, in fact, retu them to their makers."
The 80 per cent figure col pares with 75 per cent for CE and 86 per cent for large bus and coaches. In the first thr months of this year, 10,0 goods vehicles were recalled.
