THIS week's prizewinner is Mr. F. I Wright, of Hull, Yorks, who submitted two ideas. The first concerns the accelerator cable on the Thames Trader. Mr. Wright, having had trouble with the original spring clips jumping off, decided to drill a A-in. diameter hole and fit a MONEY FOR YOU? Have you an idea that is worth passing on tci other readers It must relate to maintenance practice. It is up to you. We have the money. Do you halt*, any ideas ? split pin as shown in the drawing. The cable had a natural tendency to twist when the spring clip was fitted: the twist was taken out when fitting a split pin so that there was no strain on the pin.

Mr. Wright's second modification concerns the handbrake compensator on the Austin FGK60 3-tormer. These were fitted originally with Oilite bushes which in practice were found to seize up. To remedy this Mr. Wright fitted a fin. UNF grease nipple—and the trouble, ite says, has now passed.
