B.M.C. VEHICLES FOR G.P.O.: The British Motor Corporation has secured orders for a total of 5,790 vehicles, mainly commercial, for delivery to the G.P.O. within the Government's present financial year ending March 31. 1965.

A.E.C. ENGINES FOR ITALY: A.E.C. Ltd. has received an order from Officine Meccaniche Torionesi S.R.L. of Toriona. Italy, for 240 AV690 diesel engines to be used in a new range of eight-wheeled goods chassis. Already 120 4V690 engines have been supplied to this manufacturer to power similar chassis (see " The Commercial Motor", January 17, 1%54).

REGENTS AGAIN FOR LISBON: Lisbon Electric Tramways has ordered another 20 A.E.C. Regent V double-decker but chassis. They will be assembled and fitted with forward-entrance bodywork in the tramway company's works at Cabo Ruivo. Chassis specification includes the 11.3-litre A.E.C. engine, four-speed IVIonocontrol transmission and electrically operated exhaust brakes. MORE PAXIT COLLECTORS: Dennis Paxit HA refuse collectors have been ordered by the City of Aberdeen, Perth and Kinross county council, the city of Hereford, Bedlingtonshire and Haslernere urban district councils and Epping and Ongar rural district council.

Dennis Holidays: The Guildford works of Dennis Bros. Ltd. will be closed for the annual holidays from Saturday, July 25 to Sunday, August 9. The usual skeleton staff will remain on duty to deal with urgent matters.
