AA GROUP of tipper operators controlling 300 vehicles is the potential arising from a meeting of Devon and Cornwall tipper operators at Plymouth on Tuesday. South Western Traffics Ltd., a co-operative organization sponsored by the principal tipper companies in the two counties, convened the meeting. S.W.T. itself controls about 500 tippers.

Some 80 operators attended Tuesday's meeting. l'here was overwhelming support for the idea, and an ad hoc committee of seven was elected. These are: Peter Richards, N. J. Grosse, Capt. Allison, A. B. Burgoyne, L H. Lockyer, J. R. Eggbear and Ivor Govier. In addition it was agreed that the directors of S.W.I. (whose chairman is Mr. H. Whitton) should also serve on the. committee of the new organization, which is to be called South Western Tippers Group.

The first meeting of the committee will be next Tuesday.

Cleansing in 1965: The 67th annual conference of the Institute of Public Cleansing will take place in Scarborough starting on Tuesday, June 1, and will continue until the following Friday. Vehicle demonstrations will take place on Wednesday, June 2.
