nUIC.T to the special requirements of Watney, Combe Reid and Co. Ltd. by Transport Trading (Vehicles) Ltd., Portsmouth, the body illustrated here can be used to carry 11 tons of grain in bulk or sacks of malt.

When carrying grain the body is filled through three large roof hatches with hinged metal covers; it is emptied by an Augerveyor trough conveyor recessed in the floor and driven by an electric motor mounted at the front end. Flow of grain into the trough is aided by ramps set at 33°. These ramps are folded up when bagged malt is carried and cover plates fitted over the trough.

The body, 20 ft. long, 7 ft. 6 in. wide and 6 ft. high internally, has a steel underframe and an aluminium alloy superstructure; flooring is of timber covered with alloy chequer-plate. Double hinged rear doors and a tailboard are fitted, and dual catwalks on the roof.
