Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

A group of important concerns in the British motor-engineering industry has undertaken a campaign to capture repair work for its members as a means for creating work.

It is claimed that orders amounting to thousands of pounds are being placed with foreign concerns for the replacement of parts on imported vehicles, which could be satisfactorily repaired at a small cost in this country.

Mr. C. W. Brett, managing director of Barimar, Ltd., is taking an active part, and he points out that the replacement of broken parts of foreign vehicles is an important problem of industry. It should be realized that even the largest and most intricate parts of• motor vehicles can be effectively repaired instead of being replaced at, often, a high cost.

Garnon (London), general secretary of the M.T.A. and M.A.A. ; P. Whiteman Smith (London), president of the Petrol Retailers Association.

Mr. E. E. Fletcher (Fletcher's Motors, Swansea) expressed the opinion that the general public was even now ignorant of the benefits derived from all sections of the motor industry. Mr. A. R. Atkey continued his campaign tot better organization of the reta,il trade, and Mr. Frank Lanchester foreshadowed brighter business in the immediate future,.
