• A device which ensures the supply of oil to the turbocharger in the potentially damaging time after the engine has been stopped is being marketed by Merlin Equipment. The device holds a small quantity of the engine oil under full pressure which is discharged to the turbocharger when the engine has stopped rotating. It continues the supply of lubricant to the hot turbocharger until it has stopped spinning, Each unit is supplied with a fitting kit and takes a couple of hours to install, says the distributor. The cost is £199 ex VAT.
