Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

• The UK's first trial repaint of a commercial vehicle in waterbased paints has taken place at Crane Fruehauf's Dereham. Norfolk factory. Herberts Stadohyd paint (which is already used on the Continent) was used to repaint a Mobil tanker.

A water based degreaser, etch primer, filler and top coat was used to clean and paint the tanker. Volatile organic compound (VOC) useage during the operation was calculated at 7kg against around 42kg for a normal repaint.

The repaint was carried out in the trailer manufacturer's normal booth without installing additional equipment. Conventional high pressure sprayguns were used during the repaint to limit the number of variables.

The barrel was top coated and air dried overnight after which the chassis was painted and the trailer low baked at 80°C (60°C metal temperature) for one hour. UK trials continue prior to any general release of the paint.
