• Wincanton is buying £9.5m worth of vehicles. ERF gets the lion's share, with an order for 150 Perkins Eagle Tx-powered E12.325 tractors worth £5m, The ERFs will be used mainly on Wincanton's Texaco fuel distribution contract, operating with tankers at 38 tonnes GCW.
The remaining £4.5m will be used buy 42 tractors, 25 rigids and 41 trailers from various manufacturers to be used on new meat and produce contracts. A further £500,000 has been earmarked for replacement vehicles at the end of the year.
