Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

FROM January next year Perkins will be offering through its Powerpart distributors in the UK and Ireland only a fuel heater suitable for diesel engines with CAV injection and delivery side return of fuel through the filter.

The Perkins Powerpart heater is designed to protect against fuel waxing at temperatures down to —30 deg C (-22 deg F) with winter grade diesel.

Fitting between the CAV fuel filter head and filter element, the heater adds 22mm (0.9in) to its length. The heater's conductive polymeric core is extruded between parallel copper conductors.

At low temperatures current flows through the core, and as the temperature rises the electrical resistance of the core increases and the current is reduced.

The heater will be supplied with a replacement filter bolt, dashboard switch, relay, warning light and fitting and wiring instructions. Its price has yet to be fixed, says Perkins.
