Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

A PORTABLE leg vice, which can be fa clamped to almost anything that will provide the necessary stability, is being made by J. Martin and Sons, Ltd., Park Street, Higher Ardwick, Manchester, 12. The one illustrated is the Saddletree, model 515, with 31-in. jaws, which are detachable. It will be noted that the fixed jaw of the clamp is provided with two projecting pins, and when the vice is fitted to a wood bench or other support of resilient material these pins serve to give a posi

tive location. .

Whilst we have not examined one of these tools, it would appear to be of good design and of rigid construction.

The Saddletree Junior, model 516, is similar. in principle, but is smaller and more compact in design., although it has' the same jaw width as model515.

A " fiX-anyWhere "'type of vice, with strength built into it, should prove a • useful addition to the tool equipment; the Saddletree would seem to come in that catego,y.
