Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

• A York-based engineer is looking for a manufacturer for his patented wheelnut locking design.

George Mitchell reckons his Positive Wheel Nut Lock is the answer to lost wheel syndrome; he wants a manufacturer to produce it under licence.

His design uses an adjustable tensioner to push against steel plates slipped over the wheelnuts to prevent loosening. The tensioners feature a spring bolt to prevent movement when fixed to the wheel.

Initial plate designs feature seven 'nodes' for securing the tensioner but production examples will have five— Mitchell says this will give ample permutations for proper fixing.

The projected cost of the system is £35 per wheel.
