AFTER being given assurances that two vehicles to be licensed would work exclusively for a named customer, and that their ownership would be transferred to the applicant, the Metropolitan Licensing Authority, Mr. D. 1. R. Muir, granted a contract A licence on Wednesday to Hannibal Movements, Ltd., of London. E.C.3.
Mentioning the names of three companies who had been associated with the applicant's, Mr. Muir said: "The conduct of these companies has been far from satisfactory in the past. There have been too many successful prosecutions." He asked for assurances from Mr. G. J. Newman, of the applicant company, that " this state of affairs will not continue."
Mr. Newman replied that the persons responsible for the previous operations of the vehicles had now been discharged. The people now in charge had "very clear instructions.
