ANEW transport society, the University of London Transporl Studies Society, was founded last week The demand for a society came frorr members studying for the University Certificate in Transport Studies, the three year part-time course inaugurated ir 1959. The members concerned, especially those who have completed their forma studies, felt the need to preserve the many valuable contacts and friendshijx made during the study courses.
The growing number of interestec students (some 180 enrolled last year: made the formation of a society con. fined to those studying within Certificate courses feasible. A "working committee' has been established to review a pro• gramme of activities, care being taken-tc include representatives from a with section of transport interest.
