Boden Trailers, Ltd., Oldham, Lancs., .nd examples of the new Model will he lisplayed at the Commercial Motor how next month. With Taskers D.S. utomatic coupling, 25-ft. by 7-ft. 5-in: iardwood deck and Cary Laminaire .sus;ension the semi-trailer is listed at £650, vhilst a similar version but with fifth vheel kingpin costs £725. .

Both types of semi-trailer have the ame basic construction, and the frame onsists of hot-rolled 9-in. by 3+-in, by 2.27-1b. channel side-members with our tubular and three 5-in, by 2.5-in. olled-steel channel-section cross-members veIded in place, the channel member's reing in the vicinity of the coupling. "ressed-steel outriggers And a pressedteel longitudinal floor joist are welded o the main framing .members, and the -in. by 3-in, rave rails are rolled-steel hannels welded to the outriggers.

An 8-ton tubulAr cambered axle with ight-stud tapered-roller-bearing ,hubs is mployed, and Girling 15,25-in. by 5-in, wo-leading-shoe brakes are fitted, these iving a total frictional area of 296 sq. in.

Cary Laminaire progressive laminated,.af suspension is standard on both -iodels, with the alternative of conven,onal serni-elliptic shackled springs, and 'le standard tyres are 9.00-20 (14-ply) on 16.5-20 wheels; spare wheel and tyre are vailable at extra cost, and the spare',heel carrier is listed at £7 extra.

The recently introduced Boden allsteel lightweight landing gear is employed on the 12E/5 model, and standard fittings include steel wings, rear lights, number plate and so forth. •A new method of wiring is being applied with the object of simplifYing the ,correct connection of the rear, stop and flashing-indicator lamp leads to suit the wiring of the tractiveunit cable. A simple junction box is fitted at the front of the semi-trailer, with access to it through a trap in the floor, and the leads here can easily be connected to ensure correct operation of the semi-trailer lamps irrespective of the tractive-unit wiring.

The automatic-entipling version of this new semi-trailer will be displayed on the Baden Stand (No. 132), whilst the fifthwheel version will be in the Demonstration Park, Also to be seen on the Stand will be a 17/1010/H tandem-axle maximum-capacity semi-trailer with Hendrickson rubber-sprung bogie, and a 15/TL I5-ton semi-trailer with Four-in-Line twin-oscillating-axle layout. A 17/1010/R tandem-axle semi-trailer with slipperended leaf springs will be in the Demonstration Park.
