Police hunt truck-strike youths

WITNESSES ARE being sought after a concrete block was hurled from a bridge on to a truck roof in Wales, which forced the driver to pull over.

The incident occurred at around 7pm on 31 March on the A55 near Hawarden. The driver, who police are not naming, then spotted two children, thought to be 12 and 14 years old, running from the bridge over the westbound carriageway between Junctions 32A and 33.

The driver, who works for a haulier based on the Wrexham industrial estate, was left shocked but unhurt by the incident.

North Wales Police are appealing for anyone who may have information, or who may have witnessed the incident, to either contact them on 0845 607 1002 or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.

A police spokeswoman says: "We've had incidents in the past where stones have been thrown at moving cars, but we aren't aware of anything happening like this before."
