Lorry Driver of 1982?
MORE THAN 3,000 drivers enter the CM Lorry Driver of the Year Competition annually; 1982 marks the 29th year of the event.
Last year's contest witnessed a spectacular performance by Colin Burrows from Ascot, an Esso tanker driver. He won for the second time — his previous win was in 1975 — turning in near perfect performances in every test and beating Keith Goldsmith of Jeyes, Thetford Into second place.
However, the LDoY national council would like to see more drivers this year — three quarters of a million drivers are eligible.
The first of the regional finals are on May 9 (see dates below).
