They will be operated by Ford D800 tractive units and when fully loaded each of the 26ft 6in, vans can carry 50,000 pots of yoghurt. Temperature is kept constant at 42deg F by a Petters model M20 DG unit The single-axle vans, model CV20 F1E, were finish painted and sign written at the Oldham Division of Crane Fruehauf Trailers Ltd.

To operate a bulk meat delivery service for domestic deep-freeze users, recently introduced by Fulton's Frozen Foods Ltd, this BMC 30 EA 35cwt vehicle was converted and insulated by Locomotors of Andover to maintain a•box temperature of Odeg F with a lightweight Weathertrol refrigeration unit. The vehicle was designed to meet a driver's day capacity of 25-30 calls. Each order weighs around 1cwt, so with a maximum payload of 25cwt, the van is always put to full use.

One of seven refrigerated semi-trailers being built by J. H. Sparshatt and Sons Ltd, of Portsmouth, for Fine Fare supermarket deliveries. With modified Thermo-King HMZ ODG units, operating on propane gas, they are capable of pulling down to Odeg F for the bulk transportation of frozen foods. The floors, which are of 17mm marine ply, are Overlaid with heavy duty resin bonded glass fibre, extended up the body sides to provide a waterproof and hard-wearing floor tray, and they are designed to support a pallet truck when loading. Loadlok straps and tracks are used.

Picture 4 A 30-ton gcw AEC Metalair bulk powder tanker just placed in service with Cutts Brick Ltd, Cu par, Fife. The TRG4R Mandator has an AEC 760 engine and the 670 cu.ft. tanker is mounted on Boden running gear. A Ford donkey engine on the trailer chassis powers the blower unit and tanker hydraulics.

This new style of dropside bodywork comes from Seadyke Freight Systems Ltd, Wisbech. Designated SDP Series, the body is available in any length and side height and is said to be

20 per cent lighter and 30 per cent stronger than conventional types. Snap lock sections of extruded aluminium have flange sections top and bottom which provide a good sealing edge and a flush inside surface. H-section channel fixed verticaiiy each end adds strength and seals the vertical edges.
