Support Jacks 1'0 give stability when heavy indivisible items have to be

loaded or unloaded over the sides, Scammell Lorries Ltd. is now offering built-in telescopic support jacks on semi-trailers fitted with MH automatic couplings. Stepfast jacks (made by Skylux Ltd.) are used, one being fitted to each side of the semi-trailer at the forward end.

Stabilizing capacity is 10,000 lb. and when used for lifting. the capacity is 2,500 lb. The support ram is spring loaded inside the outer casing and the jack is brought into operation by applying foot pressure on a wheel fitted above the support pad to bring the latter into contact with the ground. The wheel is then turned to lock the jack. To raise the support pad, the wheel is turned in the reverse direction and a button on the jack body pressed to release the ratchet keeping the ram down. This allows the spring to return the support pad to the raised position.

Marketed by Scammell Lorries Ltd., Totpits Lane, Watford, Herts.
