Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

1-1. A NEW heavy-recovery vehicle went

into operation in the Mersey Tunnel on Tuesday. It is a specially adapted lift truck, made to the specification of the tunnel's traffic manager, Mr. A. McFarlin, in conjunction with Boss (Engineers) Ltd., being basically a Leyland-powered Boss B26 fork-lift truck of 26,000 lb. capacity. Top speed is over 30 m.p.h. and the vehicle can turn round in two lanes.

Two sets of driving controls in conjunction with a swivelling seat enable the driver to manoeuvre the vehicle in either forward or reverse direction. A lifting height of 10 ft, is provided, while the fork carriage has three shackle eyes for securing lifting chains and there are towing points at the front.and rear of the chassis. Heavy strip rubber buffers are incorporated to push heavy vehicles out of the tunnel and a mechanical winch is mounted on the vehicle.

At a demonstration in Liverpool on Tuesday the vehicle dealt with an eightwheeler by pushing the forks under the rear of the chassis, lifting the rear axles clear, attaching a tow line and pulling the vehicle out of the tunnel.
