Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

AS reported briefly in The Commercial Motor last week, motorbuses were introduced on the three remaining South Shields trolleybus services on April though 12 trolleybuses have been retained to augment the services where necessary. Proposed route alterations will link the Market-Henderson Road-Stanhope Road (top) bus service with the existing Stanhope Road circular service thus providing a 12-minute frequency circular bus service to and from the Pier Head.

The Market-Stanhope Road ex-trolleybus service will be retained, on a 12minute headway, and a six-minute frequency service will thus be provided over former trolleybus routes except the short link between the top of Stanhope Road and Tyne Dock, which will have a 12-minute headway in place of the present five-minute one.

Following these alterations, it is expected that trolleybus operation will be restricted completely to peak hours, and the final trolleybus run will be made in July, when three more Daimler CCG6 double-deck buses are expected. It is hoped that November will see the delivery of South Shields' first rearengined buses—seven Fleetlines—which will be used initially on services 11, 12, and S50 and 51. These buses will have a red interior trim in place of the present brown trim, and will have wrap-round windscreens.

Further proposals include the operation of services 11 and 12 (Marsden Inn)' on a circular basis, and the conversion of the sub-station behind the Chichester head office into a staff canteen, following the final trolleybus withdrawal. A modification to the livery is the provision ef a blue roof in place of grey as vehicles are repainted.
