SSA LAR I ED staffs employed by British Road Services are to have an improved salary structure, providing for an increase on -the old pay rates of broadly 4 per cent, rounded to the nearest £5 per annum. This was announced last week, following the pay settlement for drivers, mates and loaders employed by B.R.S.
In addition, staff are to have a total of 10 .bank and public holidaysa year. The management, in making the concession, .stated -that so ,far as possible they wbuld expect staff to relate the four additional days to the recognized statutory
holiday period. These revised arrangements came into force at Easter, Under the agreement the London allowance is to be raised from £30 to £40 a.year, and the increment granted to staff in Class 3 after completion of two years' service in that .grade has been increased from £10 to £20.
