The first display, at 387 Bethnal Green Road, closes tomorrow, and will be transferred en bloc to the coach station at 55 Stamford Hill, N.16 (April 13-18). Thereafter, it will be shown at Lea Bridge Road, E.10 (April 20-25), Effra Road, Brixton, S.W.2 (April 27-May 2) and Angel Road. Edmonton (May 4-9).

Attractively laid out, the exhibition comprises a number of display cabinets, complete with full information of the amenities of the particular resort and the coach services to it. Six typical coaches, in the liveries of Grey-Green, Orange and Yetloways and Wallace Arnold, for whom George Ewer act as booking agents, are also on show. One coach has been converted into a mobile cinema, in which film shows are given at frequent intervals daily.

ACTION ON "SICKNESS"

PEOPLE who started work with Rotherham Transport Department after January, 1955, are receiving letters from the corporation expressing concern at their sickness records. The letters intimate that it is intended to review the sickness records periodically with a view to "taking certain action."

Some employees who joined the department after the beginning of 1955 may be dismissed, but it is expected that most wilt be offered re-employment under the terms of a sickness scheme promulgated last October.

1,000 MILES SAVED

Ai.DECISION to open up the West End of Princes Street, Edinburgh, at present limited where traffic is concerned, will mean a sating of 1,000 vehicle miles per week for corporation buses, the transport committee have worked out.

Traffic lights are being installed so that full use can be made of the five main arteries leading into the West End. .
