MR. G. BOWDEN PARKES, who is now 70, is retiring from the board of Small and Parkes, Ltd.
MR. STANLEY J. ELLIOTT, director of finance of the Ford Motor Co., Ltd., has been appointed an executive director.
MR. E. E. C. LAW has been appointed secretary to the United Motor. Finance Corporation, Ltd., in succession to MR. C. A. WARD who has retired.
MR, CLIFFORD LEE has been appointed north eastern area manager of Telamite, Ltd., and Ma. D. B. HUTCHINSON has become northern industrial representative, MR. J. R. W. Cox and MR. E. H. WILTON have been appointed joint managing directors of Cox and Co. (Watford), Ltd. Mr. Cox is also chairman.
MR, STANLEY B. HARTSHORNE, formerly chief engineer of Henry Meadows, Ltd., has been appointed assistant chief engineer to the Cummins Engine Co., Ltd.
MR. J. D. GARST, previously operations director, and MR. J. A. J. NICHOLAS, formerly sales director, have been appointed managing directors of the Regent Oil Co., Ltd.
Ma. E. H. BAYLEY and MR. H. GLASSBROOK, executives of the educational and technical training division of Leyland Motors, Ltd., are on a six-day industrial tour of Western Germany.
MR. ROGER THORNYCROET, director and general manager of Transport Equipment (Thornycroft), Ltd., has just returned from a tour of East Africa where he visited Thornycroft distributors and operators.
MR. H. J. Rocx., until recently manager of G. K. Tyre Services (Liverpool), Ltd., has been appointed manager of Fisk Tyres, Ltd., to succeed MR. B. H. SMffli, who has been appointed assistant general tyre manager of G. K. Tyre Services.
MR. W. M. FRIZELL has been appointed home replacement manager of Pirelli, Ltd. This post has been created within the tyre sales organization and is under the direct control of the chief executive of tyre sales. MR. H. A. PEARSON. Mr. Frizell, who joined Pirelli in 1937, will continue as Mr. Pearson's assistant.
MR. GEORGE F. BAKER, acting On doctor's orders, has relinquished his office as chairman and joint managing director of Stewart and Ardern, Ltd. Mr. Baker, who joined the company in 1919, remains on the board. MR. GEORGE A. ROYSTON takes over his positions and MR. PAUL C. P. STANLEY now becomes deputy chairman and joint managing director.

MR. A. THOMSON, sales manager of the 13oodyear Tyre and Rubber Co. (Gt. Britain), Ltd., tyre replacement division, has completed 30 years' service with the company.
MR. S. L. POTTER, commercial manager of the Dunlop Rim and Wheel Company for the past two years, has been appointed sales manager of Dunlop's agricultural and industrial division.
MR. ALAN WitrrwEu., American and Caribbean zone manager of F. Perkins, Ltd., and MR. A. E. TIMMINS, senior service representative, are touring the West Indies and Latin America visiting distributors and manufacturers.
MR. E. L. ASHLEY, formerly manager of the Banbury works of the Northern Aluminium Co., Ltd., has been appointed a director. MR. KENNETH HALL, assistant director of operations of the parent company, Aluminium, Ltd., Montreal, has resigned from the board.
MR. G. E. LAWRENCE, manager of the Wolverhampton head office of Goodyear Tyre and Rubber Co. (Gt. Britain), Ltd., has been appointed southern area and South Wales sales representative. MR. R. BACHE takes over Mr. Lawrence's position in the mileage sales division.
MR. C. P. SCOTT-MALDEN has been promoted to under secretary of the Ministry of Transport and has taken over control of the Road Transport and International Inland Transport Group from MR. J. E. HAMPSON, who has been promoted to deputy secretary for inland transport.

MONTROSE SELL OUT TH:Montrose Hiring Co., Montrose, .ngus, have sold their five-coach business to F. and J. Mitchell, Luthermuir, Kincardineshire, who operate 10 single-deck buses and coaches.
Stage, express, contract and excursion and tour licences are held by Monirose Hiring, and similar licences cover Mitchell's fleet.
Montrose Hiring Co.. will, however, maintain an essentially summer only beach service, covering a one-mile run.
