OF the whole country's consumption of petrol during 1948, 6 per cent. was used by public service vehicles, according to figures. published by the Ministry of Fuel and Power.
A total of 1,700.,000 tons of petrol was consumed by goods vehicles and • 200,000 tons by passenger machines.
