Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

A REGULAR programme of talks will 1-1 be held during the winter session by the Midland Section of the Institute of Transport at the Engineering Centre. Stephenson Place, Birmingham, 2. Meetings will take place on the first Tuesday of each month and talks in the series will include: "New Vehicles for the Motorways," by Mr. A. IL Carter (January) and "Post-war Acts of Parliament and their Effect on the Road Transport Industry," by Mr. J. Foley Egginton (March).

The annual dinner of the section will be held at the Queen's Hotel, Birmingham, on November 13, and the annual meeting takes place on April 5.

The Metropolitan Section's papers, to be read at 80 Portland Place, London. W.1, include the following:— December 7: "Transport history for transport men," by Mr. R. M. Robbins.

January 4: "The omnibus industry and how it is combating recession," by Mr. W. M. Dravers.

February 1: "The changing scene in transport since 1947," by Sir John Ben stead.

March 7: " The future of co-ordination between rail and road," by Mr. A. J. White.

April 4: "Electronics and transport," by Mr. G. H. Hinds.
